You’re not looking for the cheapest option. You’re looking for movers who won’t break your furniture, disappear with a deposit, or add mystery fees to your bill.
Moving in Northwest Harbor means navigating narrow roads, seasonal traffic from summer residents, and strict building regulations if you’re in a condo or co-op. You need a local moving company that knows how to handle those details without making them your problem.
All Terrain Moving has spent over 15 years moving families and businesses across Suffolk County. We handle residential moves, commercial relocations, and emergency same-day jobs when life doesn’t give you advance notice. Whether you’re moving a studio apartment or an entire office, we pack it, move it, and set it up so you can get back to normal.
All Terrain Moving is a family-owned business based in Islandia, serving Northwest Harbor and the surrounding Long Island communities for over 15 years. We’re licensed, insured, and we’ve built our reputation on showing up when we say we will and finishing the job right.
Matt, the owner, runs the operation with the same approach he’d want if he were the customer: transparent pricing, careful handling, and no runaround. We’re not a national franchise with a call center. When you call us, you’re talking to people who actually do the work.
Northwest Harbor has its own quirks—waterfront properties, seasonal access issues, and a mix of year-round residents and summer homeowners. We’ve moved people in and out of this area long enough to know what to expect and how to plan for it.
You call or email us with the details of your move. We ask about the size of your place, what you’re bringing, any specialty items like pianos or antiques, and your timeline. Then we give you an upfront quote—no hidden fees, no surprises later.
On moving day, our team shows up on time with the right equipment. We pack what needs packing, wrap your furniture, and load everything carefully. If you’re moving locally within Northwest Harbor or across Suffolk County, we handle the logistics. If it’s a long-distance move, we coordinate timing and delivery so you’re not left waiting.
Once we arrive at your new place, we unload, unwrap, and set up your furniture where you want it. If you need us to haul away boxes, packing materials, or unwanted items, we do that too. We don’t leave until the job’s done and you’re satisfied.

All Terrain Moving offers residential and commercial moving services, including packing, loading, transportation, unloading, and setup. We also handle specialty items—pianos, safes, antiques, artwork—that require extra care and specific techniques.
If you’re on a tight timeline, we offer same-day and emergency moving services. Maybe your closing date moved up, another company canceled last minute, or you’re dealing with property damage and need to move fast. We’ve handled all of it.
Northwest Harbor sees a surge in moves during the summer months when seasonal residents arrive and year-round homeowners downsize or relocate. That’s also when moving companies get booked solid and prices spike. If you’re planning a summer move, book early. If you’re moving in the off-season, you’ll have more flexibility and often better rates.
We also provide junk removal services, so if you’re clearing out a garage, basement, or entire property, we can take care of that in the same trip. Long Island has strict disposal regulations, and we handle everything legally—electronics, appliances, furniture, construction debris. You don’t have to worry about fines or making multiple dump runs.
Most local moves in Northwest Harbor run between $400 and $1,200 depending on the size of your home, how much you’re moving, and how far you’re going. A one-bedroom apartment typically costs less than a four-bedroom house, and moves within the same town cost less than moves to another county.
We charge based on the time it takes and the crew size needed. A small move might only need two movers and a few hours. A larger move might require three or four movers and a full day. We give you an upfront estimate so you know what to expect before we start.
Hidden fees are common in this industry—fuel surcharges, stair fees, long-carry charges. We include all of that in our quote. If something changes on moving day, we talk to you about it before adjusting the price. No surprises.
Yes. We specialize in emergency and same-day moves when you’re in a bind. Maybe your lease ended sooner than expected, your closing date changed, or another moving company canceled on you. We’ve had customers call us the night before and we’ve made it work.
Same-day availability depends on our schedule, so the earlier you call, the better. But we do our best to accommodate urgent requests, especially during the off-season when we have more flexibility.
Emergency moves cost the same as scheduled moves—we don’t upcharge just because you’re in a tough spot. We know life happens, and we’d rather help you out than leave you scrambling.
Yes. All Terrain Moving is fully licensed and insured to operate in New York. We carry liability coverage that protects your belongings during the move, and we’re transparent about what that coverage includes.
Basic liability is included in every move, but it’s minimal—usually around 60 cents per pound per item. That means if we damage a 50-pound item, you’d get $30. For most people, that’s not enough. We recommend purchasing additional valuation coverage if you’re moving valuable or sentimental items.
We also carry workers’ compensation insurance, so if one of our movers gets injured on the job, you’re not liable. Some unlicensed movers skip this coverage to keep costs down, but that puts you at serious legal and financial risk if something goes wrong.
Yes. We move pianos, safes, antiques, artwork, and other items that require special handling. Our team is trained in the techniques needed to move these items safely—proper wrapping, securing, and loading to prevent damage.
Pianos are especially tricky. They’re heavy, awkwardly shaped, and sensitive to temperature and movement. We use piano boards, straps, and padding to protect the instrument and prevent injury. If you’re moving a grand piano, we disassemble the legs and wrap each piece separately.
Safes are another common request. Depending on the size and weight, we may need additional equipment or crew members. We assess the situation ahead of time so we bring what’s needed and don’t waste your time or ours.
We serve all of Suffolk County, Nassau County, and parts of Queens. That includes towns like Shelter Island, East Hampton, Riverhead, Smithtown, Huntington, and everywhere in between. If you’re moving within Long Island or leaving the area entirely, we handle both local and long-distance moves.
Northwest Harbor is part of the East Hampton area, which has unique access considerations—especially during summer when traffic is heavy and parking is limited. We plan our routes and timing around those challenges so your move stays on schedule.
If you’re moving off Long Island, we coordinate with trusted partners or handle the entire move ourselves depending on the distance. We’ve moved customers to New York City, upstate New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and beyond.
Yes. We offer full-service junk removal for residential and commercial properties. Whether you’re clearing out a garage, cleaning up after a move, or dealing with an estate cleanout, we haul it away and dispose of everything legally.
Long Island has strict regulations around what you can and can’t throw away. Electronics, appliances with refrigerants, paint, and hazardous materials all require special handling. We know the rules and handle disposal properly so you don’t get fined.
Our junk removal pricing is upfront and includes labor, transportation, disposal fees, and cleanup. No hidden charges. We quote the job, haul it away, and you’re done. If you’re moving and need junk removal at the same time, we can handle both in one trip.
