You’re not just moving boxes across state lines. You’re relocating your life, and that comes with enough stress without adding unreliable movers to the mix.
When you work with a long distance moving company that knows what they’re doing, your timeline stays intact. Your furniture doesn’t show up with mystery dents. You’re not calling around trying to figure out where your stuff is or why the price suddenly jumped $800.
Everything gets packed properly the first time. Fragile items arrive unbroken. Heavy furniture gets positioned where you want it, not dumped in the garage. You get a realistic timeline upfront, and that’s the timeline that actually happens.
The difference between a smooth cross country move and a disaster usually comes down to whether your movers have done this before—and whether they’re honest about what it takes.
All Terrain Moving and Junk Removal is a family-owned business based right here on Long Island. We’re not a national franchise with rotating crews who’ve never met you.
We know Wyandanch. We know Suffolk County. And we know exactly what it takes to get your belongings from here to wherever you’re headed—whether that’s Florida, North Carolina, or across the country.
We’re fully licensed (DOT #3706838, MC #1340650), fully insured, and we’ve handled everything from studio apartments to five-bedroom homes. When you’re leaving an area where average rent hits $2,257 a month, the last thing you need is a moving company that adds more cost or stress to an already big decision.
First, we give you a real estimate. Not a lowball number that magically increases later. We assess what you’re moving, where it’s going, and what kind of packing or specialty handling you need.
Then we schedule your move around your timeline—not ours. If you need to be out by a specific date, we work backward from there.
On moving day, our crew shows up on time with the right equipment. We pack what needs packing, protect what needs protecting, and load everything systematically so it travels safely. Pianos, safes, antiques, awkward furniture—we’ve moved it all.
During transit, your belongings are insured and tracked. You’re not left wondering where everything is or when it’ll show up.
When we arrive at your new place, we unload, unpack if that’s part of your service, and place your furniture where you want it. You’re not dragging a couch around after we leave.
Ready to get started?
Our long distance moving services cover the full scope or just the parts you want help with. Full packing means we bring materials and pack everything. Partial packing means we handle the breakables and you pack the easy stuff. Your call.
We move specialty items that other companies won’t touch—pool tables, gun safes, grandfather clocks, fine art. If it’s valuable or awkward, we have the equipment and experience to move it safely.
For folks leaving Wyandanch and Long Island, we also offer junk removal before your move. If you’re downsizing from a bigger place to something smaller out of state, we can clear out what you’re not taking. One company, one timeline, less coordination on your end.
Every move includes basic liability coverage, and you can add full-value protection if you want more coverage. We explain both options clearly—no insurance jargon, no pressure.
Most long distance moves from Wyandanch fall somewhere between $3,500 and $6,500, depending on how much you’re moving and how far you’re going. A one-bedroom apartment heading to Florida costs less than a four-bedroom house moving to California.
The price depends on weight, distance, packing services, and timing. Summer moves cost more because demand is higher. Moves requiring storage or special handling add to the total.
We give you a binding estimate after assessing your inventory. That number doesn’t change unless you add items or services later. No surprise fees when the truck shows up.
For most cross country moves, transit time runs between 3 and 10 days depending on distance. A move to a neighboring state like Pennsylvania might take 2-3 days. A move to the West Coast typically takes 7-10 days.
We give you a delivery window upfront, not a vague “sometime next week.” Weather, traffic, and logistical issues can cause delays—about 15% of long distance moves hit some kind of delay—but we stay in contact and update you if anything changes.
If you need your stuff by a specific date, tell us during planning. We can often accommodate firm deadlines, but it requires coordination on both ends.
Every long distance move includes basic liability coverage at no extra cost. That’s typically 60 cents per pound per item, which is industry standard but doesn’t cover much for expensive items.
Full-value protection costs more but covers replacement or repair at current market value. If you’re moving valuable furniture, electronics, or antiques, full-value protection usually makes sense.
If damage happens, you file a claim with documentation and photos. We walk you through the process and work with you to resolve it. Our goal is to prevent damage in the first place through proper packing and handling, but insurance exists for the rare times something goes wrong.
Yes, or you need to designate someone who can be there. Someone needs to sign off on the inventory list when we load and again when we deliver.
Being present also lets you point out anything fragile, answer questions about disassembly, and make decisions if something doesn’t fit as expected. At delivery, you’ll want to check items off the inventory and direct where furniture goes.
If you absolutely can’t be there, you can authorize someone else in writing. But most people prefer to be present for their own peace of mind, especially at delivery.
We don’t transport vehicles—that requires a different type of carrier and licensing. But we can recommend reliable auto transport companies we’ve worked with before.
Most people either drive their car to the new location or hire an auto transport service separately. If you’re flying to your destination and need your car shipped, book that early. Auto transport gets expensive during peak moving season.
What we can move: motorcycles, bikes, lawn equipment, and other items that fit in the truck. Just not operational vehicles that need to be driven or towed.
Fall and winter are cheaper and easier to schedule. May through August is peak moving season—prices go up, availability shrinks, and everything takes longer to coordinate.
If you have flexibility, moving between September and April saves money and gives you more control over timing. If you’re locked into a summer move because of a lease or closing date, book as early as possible. Waiting until the last minute in July means limited options and higher prices.
Mid-month moves are also easier than end-of-month. Most leases end on the 30th or 31st, so those days get packed with people moving. The middle of the month gives you more breathing room.
