Long Distance Moving Services Flanders

What Your Move Looks Like When It's Done Right

You’re not just moving boxes across state lines. You’re relocating your life, and the difference between a nightmare and a smooth transition comes down to who’s handling the logistics.

When we handle your long distance move, you get a binding estimate before anything gets loaded. No surprise fuel charges. No mystery fees for tolls or “long carry” that suddenly appear on your final bill. You know what you’re paying from day one.

Your belongings get loaded by movers who’ve been doing this for years, not seasonal workers learning on your furniture. That piano, that antique dresser your grandmother left you, that pool table in the basement—they get disassembled, wrapped, and secured properly. When they arrive at your new place, they’re in the same condition they left.

You also get real-time communication. Not radio silence for three days while your stuff is somewhere between here and there. You know where your belongings are, when they’ll arrive, and who to call if something changes.

Flanders Interstate Moving Company

Family-Owned, Locally Trusted for 15 Years

All Terrain Moving started with two brothers, Scott and Matt, who saw too many people getting burned by movers who overpromised and underdelivered. That was 15 years ago. We’re still family-owned, still local, and still the ones answering the phone when you call.

We’ve moved hundreds of Flanders families across state lines. We know the housing stock here—most homes were built in the 1970s with basements, attics, and garages that accumulate decades of stuff. We know what it takes to clear out a three-bedroom ranch and get everything safely to Florida, North Carolina, or wherever you’re headed.

We’re fully licensed and insured to handle interstate moves. That’s not just paperwork—it’s your protection. If something goes wrong, you’re covered. If someone gets hurt on your property, you’re not liable. That matters when you’re trusting strangers with everything you own.

Cross Country Moving Process

Here's Exactly How Your Move Happens

First, you call or fill out a form. We ask about your current place, where you’re going, what you’re moving, and any specialty items that need extra care. Then we give you a binding estimate—not a range, not a “starting at” number. An actual price.

If you move forward, we schedule your move date and send a crew that shows up on time. They walk through your place, confirm what’s going with you, and start packing the truck. Everything gets wrapped, padded, and secured. Furniture gets disassembled if needed. Boxes get stacked strategically so nothing shifts during transport.

Your belongings get loaded onto our truck and driven to your new location. You get updates along the way so you’re never wondering where your stuff is. When we arrive, we unload everything, reassemble what we took apart, and place items where you want them.

Before we leave, you do a final walkthrough. If something’s damaged, we handle it through insurance. If everything looks good, we collect payment and you’re done. No lingering invoices, no surprise charges two weeks later.

About All Terrain Moving and Junk Removal Inc.

Affordable Out of State Movers

What's Included in Your Long Distance Move

Every long distance move includes a full crew, the truck, all equipment, and basic liability coverage. We bring the dollies, straps, blankets, and tools. You don’t need to rent anything or buy supplies.

We also handle specialty items that most movers charge extra for. Hot tubs, Jacuzzis, pianos, pool tables—we’ve moved them all. If it needs to be disassembled to fit through a door or survive transport, we take care of it. If it’s fragile or valuable, we wrap it properly.

Storage is available if your closing dates don’t line up. Short-term or long-term, climate-controlled or standard—whatever you need while you’re between homes. That’s especially useful for Flanders families dealing with the current market, where inventory is growing but closing timelines are unpredictable.

For families moving out of state to escape New York’s cost of living, this matters. Property taxes in Flanders average over $11,000 annually. Housing costs jumped 8.5% recently. When you’re relocating to save money, the last thing you need is a moving company adding hidden fees or damaging your furniture so you have to replace it in your new place.

How much does it cost to hire a long distance moving company in Flanders?

Long distance moves are priced differently than local moves. Instead of an hourly rate, you’re paying based on the weight of your shipment, the distance you’re traveling, and any additional services like packing or specialty item handling.

For a typical three-bedroom home in Flanders moving to a neighboring state, you’re usually looking at somewhere between $3,000 and $6,000. That range shifts based on how much stuff you have, how far you’re going, and the time of year. Summer moves cost more because demand is higher. Winter moves are usually cheaper.

The key is getting a binding estimate, not a non-binding one. A binding estimate locks in your price. A non-binding estimate is just a guess, and your final bill can be significantly higher if your shipment weighs more than expected. We only give binding estimates because we don’t want you surprised on moving day. You know what you’re paying before we load the first box.

It depends on where you’re going. A move from Flanders to Pennsylvania might take two days total—one day to load, one day to drive and unload. A move to Florida could take four to five days because of the distance.

Here’s what actually happens: We load your truck on day one. Then we drive your shipment to the destination, which might take one to three days depending on mileage. Once we arrive, we unload and set up your new place, which usually takes another full day.

You won’t be without your stuff for weeks like some people fear. Most interstate moves are completed within a week from the day we load the truck to the day we finish unloading. If you need a tighter timeline, we can prioritize your shipment, but that usually costs extra. For most families, the standard timeline works fine and keeps costs reasonable.

Every interstate moving company is required to offer basic liability coverage, which is included in your move. Basic coverage pays 60 cents per pound per item. So if your 50-pound TV gets damaged, you’d get $30. That’s not much, which is why most people opt for full value protection.

Full value protection costs extra, but it means if something gets damaged or lost, we’re responsible for repairing it, replacing it, or reimbursing you for its current market value. That’s real protection. If your $2,000 couch gets ruined, you get $2,000, not $60.

We also carry general liability insurance and workers’ compensation, which protects you if someone gets hurt on your property during the move. You’re not personally liable if a mover trips on your front steps or throws out their back lifting your couch. That coverage is automatic—you don’t pay extra for it. It’s just part of hiring a licensed, insured company instead of some guys with a truck.

You can pack yourself if you want to save money, or we can handle it for you. Most people do a mix—they pack personal items like clothes and documents, and we pack the kitchen, fragile items, and anything that needs special care.

If you’re packing yourself, use sturdy boxes and pack them tightly so nothing shifts during transport. Don’t overload boxes to the point where they’re too heavy to lift safely. Label everything clearly, especially boxes that contain fragile items or need to go to specific rooms in your new place.

If we’re packing for you, we bring all the materials and handle everything on moving day. It adds time and cost to your move, but it also means your dishes, glassware, and electronics are packed by people who do this every day. For long distance moves where your stuff is on a truck for days, proper packing makes a real difference in what arrives intact versus what arrives in pieces.

Yes. We’ve moved pianos, pool tables, hot tubs, antiques, gun safes, and just about every other heavy or fragile item you can think of. These items require disassembly, special equipment, and careful handling—they’re not just getting tossed on the truck with your boxes.

Pianos get wrapped in blankets and secured with straps to prevent shifting. Pool tables get disassembled, with the slate carefully wrapped and transported flat. Antiques get extra padding and are positioned in the truck where they won’t get crushed or jostled. If something needs climate control during transport, we can arrange that too.

Most moving companies either refuse specialty items or charge a fortune for them. We include them in our standard service because we’ve been doing this long enough to know how to handle them safely. If you’ve got something unusual or particularly valuable, mention it when you call for an estimate. We’ll walk through exactly how we’ll move it and what precautions we’ll take to keep it safe.

At least four to six weeks if you’re moving during peak season, which runs from May through September. That’s when most people move because kids are out of school and weather is predictable. If you wait until the last minute during summer, you might not get your preferred dates.

Off-season moves—October through April—are more flexible. You can sometimes book a week or two out and still get the dates you want. You’ll also pay less because demand is lower and we’re not turning away jobs.

That said, we’ve handled same-day moves when someone’s closing date suddenly changed or their previous mover canceled. If you’re in a bind, call us. We’ll tell you honestly whether we can make it work. But if you have the luxury of planning ahead, book early. You’ll have more control over your schedule, better availability, and less stress trying to coordinate everything at the last minute.
