You get a crew that knows the difference between a careful move and a careless one. We’ve handled everything from studio apartments near the LIRR station to 10,000-square-foot homes in Huntington Bay, and the approach doesn’t change—pack it right, load it smart, communicate clearly, and deliver on what we promised.
Your quote is your price. No surprise fees when we show up. No holding your furniture hostage until you pay more. We’ve been doing this since 2009 in Huntington Station, and most of our work comes from people who’ve used us before or heard about us from someone who has.
You’re not getting a guy with a truck working under the table. You’re getting a licensed, insured, full-service moving company that handles local moves, long-distance relocations, packing, storage, and junk removal. If you need a piano moved or a pool table relocated, we do that too. If you’ve got a same-day situation, call before noon and we’ll see what we can do.
All Terrain Moving and Junk Removal Inc. is a family-owned operation based right here on Long Island. We’ve been handling moves in Huntington Station since 2009 and providing junk removal services for over 15 years. Most of our business comes from repeat customers and referrals, which tells you something about how we operate.
We know this area. We know the traffic patterns on Route 110 during rush hour. We know which buildings require certificates of insurance ahead of time and which co-ops need reservations for the freight elevator. We know where parking is impossible and how to plan around it.
You’re hiring people who live here, work here, and have a reputation to protect here. That matters when you’re trusting someone with everything you own.
You call or fill out a form, and we schedule a time to walk through what you’re moving. We can do this over the phone, through photos, or in person depending on the size of the job. We ask about stairs, elevators, parking, specialty items, and anything that might affect timing or logistics.
Then we give you a detailed quote that accounts for everything—labor, truck, mileage, materials, and any specialty handling. What we quote is what you pay. If something changes on your end, we adjust. If it doesn’t, the price doesn’t either.
On moving day, the crew shows up on time with the truck and equipment. We protect floors, doorways, and railings. We wrap furniture, pad fragile items, and load everything systematically so it travels safely. If you’re packing yourself, we can provide boxes and materials ahead of time. If you want us to pack, we do that too.
Once we’re loaded, we drive to your new place and reverse the process. We unload, unwrap, and place everything where you want it. Before we leave, we do a walkthrough to make sure nothing’s missing and everything arrived in the condition it left.
Ready to get started?
You’re getting a full-service moving company that handles local and long-distance moves, packing, unpacking, storage, and junk removal. We move residential and commercial clients. We handle specialty items like pianos, safes, pool tables, antiques, and oversized furniture that most crews won’t touch.
In Huntington Station, where the median home value sits around $585,000 and most houses were built between the 1940s and 1960s, we’re used to working in older homes with narrow staircases, tight corners, and valuable belongings. We plan for it. We bring the right equipment. We don’t rush and hope for the best.
If you’re downsizing or clearing out a property, we handle junk removal too. If something can be donated or recycled, we make sure it gets there instead of a landfill. Same-day junk removal is available if you call before noon—we prioritize urgent requests when we can.
We’re licensed and insured to operate across Long Island. That means if something unexpected happens, you’re covered. It also means we follow local disposal regulations and building requirements, which matters more than most people realize until it becomes a problem.
It depends on what you’re moving, how far you’re going, and what services you need. A local move within Huntington Station for a one-bedroom apartment typically runs between $400 and $800. A three-bedroom house can range from $1,200 to $2,500 depending on the amount of furniture, whether there are stairs, and if you need packing services.
Long-distance moves are priced differently—usually based on weight and mileage. Specialty items like pianos or safes add to the cost because they require custom handling and equipment.
We give you a detailed quote upfront that breaks down labor, truck time, mileage, and materials. That quote is your price unless something changes on your end. We don’t lowball to win the job and then inflate the price on moving day. What we quote is what you pay, and we put that in writing.
Check if they’re licensed and insured. In New York, moving companies need a USDOT number for interstate moves and proper licensing for local operations. Ask for proof of insurance—both liability and workers’ compensation. If they can’t provide it, walk away.
Look at how they quote. Legitimate movers give detailed estimates after asking about your inventory, stairs, distance, and any specialty items. Scam companies offer suspiciously low quotes over the phone without seeing what you’re moving. They show up on moving day and triple the price, sometimes holding your belongings hostage until you pay.
Read reviews, but read them carefully. Look for patterns in complaints—late arrivals, damaged items, price changes, poor communication. A few bad reviews happen to everyone. Consistent issues across dozens of reviews are a red flag. Ask for references if you’re unsure. We’ll provide them.
You can do either. Some people prefer to pack their own belongings because it saves money and gives them control over how things are organized. If that’s you, we can provide boxes, tape, bubble wrap, and packing paper ahead of time so you’re ready to go.
If you’d rather have us handle it, we offer full packing services. Our crew comes in before moving day, packs everything room by room, labels boxes, and wraps fragile items properly. This is especially helpful if you’re short on time, dealing with a last-minute move, or just don’t want to spend weeks packing.
We also offer partial packing—you handle the easy stuff like clothes and linens, and we pack the kitchen, glassware, artwork, and anything breakable or complicated. That’s a good middle ground for people who want to save some money but don’t want to risk packing a 60-inch TV or a china cabinet themselves.
Yes. We move pianos, pool tables, safes, antiques, oversized furniture, and other specialty items regularly. These aren’t things you can just throw on a dolly and hope for the best—they require the right equipment, the right technique, and a crew that’s done it before.
For pianos, we use padded blankets, straps, and a piano board to secure it during transport. Upright pianos and baby grands are handled differently depending on size and weight. If there are stairs involved, we plan for that ahead of time and bring extra crew if needed.
Pool tables get disassembled, moved, and reassembled at the new location. Safes require specialized dollies and sometimes additional labor depending on weight and placement. Antiques and fragile items get custom crating or extra padding to prevent damage during the move. We ask about these items upfront during the quote so we can plan properly and bring the right tools.
We’re licensed and insured, which means if something gets damaged due to our error, you’re covered. Before the move, we do a walkthrough and document the condition of your belongings and the property. After the move, we do another walkthrough to make sure everything arrived safely.
If something is damaged, you report it immediately and we file a claim with our insurance. The process depends on the type of damage and the coverage level you selected. Basic liability coverage is included in every move—it covers a set amount per pound per item. Full-value protection is available for an additional cost and covers the repair or replacement value of damaged items.
Most damage happens because of poor packing or rushing the job. We take our time. We wrap furniture, pad fragile items, and secure everything in the truck so it doesn’t shift during transport. We’ve been doing this for over 15 years, and our goal is to get everything to your new place in the same condition it left.
Two to four weeks is ideal, especially during peak season from May through September when everyone’s moving. Huntington Station’s housing market moves fast—homes sell in around 36 days on average—so if you’re closing on a house, book as soon as you have a date.
If you’re moving during the off-season or mid-month, you might find availability with less notice. Weekdays are usually easier to book than weekends. End-of-month dates fill up quickly because that’s when most leases expire.
We do offer same-day service for junk removal and sometimes for smaller moves if we have availability. If you call before noon and we have a crew free, we’ll do our best to fit you in. But for a full household move, especially if you need packing services or have specialty items, give us as much notice as you can so we can plan properly and make sure we have the right crew and equipment ready.
